I’m sure if you are a regular on Instagram, you will have seen many different monthly crochet subscription boxes. There’s definitely one out there to suit everybody. One of my personal favourites is the Crochet Society boxes.
Each month, a box jam packed full of crochet goodies get delivered direct to your door. Sarah Jayne from Bella Coco Crochet has put so much thought into carefully curating the the perfect crochet subscription box, including crochet related items from stitch markers and holders, note books and planners, to hook cases and tape measures.
The best part is, everything inside is a complete surprise!
Though the designers are revealed before the box is sent out (I have been very lucky to have been a designer for Crochet Society Box 3 and also the upcoming Box 10!), the patterns and contents are kept a surprise until Sarah Jayne reveals all once almost everyone has their box.
I was very lucky to have Box 7 sent to me to try out. I absolutely loved this box, everything from the yarn, the colours and the beautiful extras ticked all the right boxes.
The Yarn
Box 7 did not disappoint with the yarn!
Each month, the box contains different balls of yarn, perfect for the projects inside. Previous boxes have included Caron X Pantone, King Cole Cottonsoft and now there is exclusive Bella Coco yarn included.
This months yarn was 2 balls of Bella Coco Perfect Cotton DK in the most gorgeous shades of pink. It’s super soft and an absolute delight to work with.
The Patterns and Designers
Each month, there are different designers involved, their identity is kept a secret until the little teaser is released! The designers from Box 7 are some of my absolute favourites on Instagram, their feeds alone are just filled of happiness and creativity.
The patterns that these designers have created this months box are simply beautiful and very in keeping with the theme as well. It was so hard to decide which pattern I wanted to make first! Any special stitches that you might not be aware of are explained clearly with picture tutorials included and there are handy video tutorials which are exclusive for subscribers.
In the end, I decided to make the lovely little Morelia Scrubbies by Kylie from StitchedUpCraft as my first project from the box.
The pattern is easy to follow and I was able to whip a few of these up quite quickly! I absolutely love them and will certainly be making some more of these! Not to mention, they’re great for helping he environment as they’re reusable! I haven’t made the little basket yet as I was so eager to try another pattern from the booklet.
Next on my to-do list was the beautiful Arcade Delights Scarf by Jess from Rocketgirl Crochet.
The pattern for the scarf is an absolute delight to make and I found myself unable to put it down! Once I started it, I was soon in the rhythm of the pattern and found it flowed so easily.
Unfortunately, there isn’t enough yarn to do all the projects in the box, but I do have plans of making the rest with some cotton DK from my yarn stash. I have some beautiful cotton stashed away so will be making Sarah-Jayne’s (Bella Coco Crochet) eye mask with that!
The Extras
On top of the yarns and pattern booklet, each month comes with a bespoke rose gold crochet hook and stitch marker designed especially for that box. You won’t find these hooks anywhere other than in the Crochet Society boxes and they are the perfect size for the yarns and patterns. On the back of the little postcard is also a conversion chart.
Box 7 also came with a beautiful cosmetics bag, hand cream and lip balm which are all just amazing! The cream and lip balm are delicately rose scented and go perfectly with the theme of the box.
