I am very easily distracted… especially with lovely rainbowy yarn like this! And what better way to show off the beauitfulness that is Scheepjes Catona than in a rainbow of stars?!
While hooking up a new blanket pattern (watch this space!), I realised that the first couple of rows were too far off the base for a star. There are loads of different star patterns available throughout the internet, so I though I would share mine with you.
What you will need:
4ply cotton yarn – for these I used Scheepjes Catona in a variety of colours
3.5mm hook
Yarn needle
Scissors
How to make the stars
Round 1: Ch6, ss to form a ring. Ch3 (1dc), 2dc, ch1 *3dc, ch1* *repeat *3 times, ss
Round 2: Ch3 (1dc), in next ch1 sp, *3dc, ch1, 3dc*, repeat 4 times, in last ch1 sp, 3dc, ch1, 2dc, ss in 3rd st on starting ch3
Round 3: Ch3 (1dc), in the sp between 2 3dc clusters from the previous row (2dc, ch1, 3dc), *sc in ch1 sp, (3dc, ch1, 3dc) between 3dc clusters*, *repeat* 4 times, sc in last ch1 sp from prev row, ss (See above pic)
Round 4: *Ch1, in ch1 sp (2hdc, 2dc, ch1, 2dc, 2hdc), ch1, ss in sc sp from prev row*, *repeat* 4 more times, ss to join.
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends
Ta-da! Your star is complete! You can then either make a chain of crochet and attache them together or simply attach some ribbon and they become a decoration to hang on your Christmas tree!
