These little flowers are a fun and colourful way to brighten up any room of the house! They are super easy and quick to make and can be made in a variety of colours.
What you will need:
4ply cotton yarn – for these I used Scheepjes Catona in a variety of colours
How to make the flowers
Round 1: Ch5, ss to form a ring. Ch3 (1dc), 1dc, ch1, *2dc, ch1*, *repeat* 4 more times, ss (6 2dc, 2 ch1)
Round 2: In any ch1 sp, ch3 (1dc), 2dc in same ch1 sp, ch1, *miss 2dc, in ch1 sp 3dc, ch1*, *repeat* 4 more times, ss (6 3dc, 6ch1)
Round 3: In 1st dc of previous round, join yarn and ch1 (1sc), 1sc in next 2 dc’s, 1dc spike in between 2dc from 1st round – yarn over, insert hook in middle of 2dc’s from first round, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through first two loops on hook, yarn over, pull through last 2 loops on hook, ch3, dc spike in same st, *1sc in next 3 dc, dc spike in middle of 2dc from first round, ch3, dc spike in same st*, *repeat* 4 more times, ss

If you want to join you flowers as you go, crochet the first flower in full. For the rest of the flowers crochet round 4 as follows:
Round 4: Join yarn in any ch3 sp, ch3 (1dc), 9dc in same sp, miss 1sc, ss in middle sc, miss 1sc, *10dc in ch3 sp, miss 1sc, ss in middle sc, miss 1sc*, *repeat* 3 more times, 5dc in next ch3, put this flower with the first flower their backs facing, ss in middle dc of one of the 10dcs, 5dc in in same ch3, ss
Continue to make and join the flowers until thy reach the length you want.
Now, you can add a border to the flower chain and add a hanging loop for the garland.
Join the yarn in the first dc of any 10dc, ch1 (1sc), 1dc in next 9dc, ss in ss from previous round, repeat until you get to the joining ss for the next flower, sc in top of dc where the flower is joined, then continue to sc in each dc on the next flower.
Repeat this until you get to the last flower on your chain. You will now add one of the hanging loops on your garland. 1sc until the middle dc on the middle petal, ch10, ss in the 10th ch from hook, sc in next 5dc, ss in ss from previous round.
Continue all the way to the middle petal of the first flower on your garland and make a hanging loop like at the other end of the garland.
Once you get to the first sc of the border round, ss.
Fasten off yarn and weave in ends.
And you’re done
